Employee Perception of Leadership Tolerance of Deviance and the Moral Disengagement from Organizational Citizenship Behavior

Organizational leaders set the example for “what is acceptable” ethical behavior and encourage organizational citizenship among employees. willingness to go above beyond regular duties responsibilities without using formal reward systems. However, employees who use social comparisons or repeatedly witness tolerate deviant behaviors are more likely morally disengage from positive attributes associated with behavior. This research aims determine leadership that resist negative impact of perceived deviance tolerance on employee The Leadership Ethic Decision-making (LEAD) model grounded in foundational theory which suggests should conduct an inward examination integrity assurance outward based pragmatism improve perception decision-making. result this study responses 378 full-time United States. findings reveal LEAD a reliable, resistant moderation contributions workplace. Therefore, leaders, managers, HR professionals apply will influence while reducing deviance.
